Nutrition
So, you’ve decided that your current diet isn’t helping you to reach your health goals. Or, maybe you’re considering adding health and fitness supplements to boost your gains. Either way, you want to be sure that you’re fueling your body correctly. Here’s to a healthy diet!
These post will focus on all things related to NUTRITION. That includes:
A lot of fad diets just don’t work the way they claim. For example, the Master Cleanse won’t help you lose 40 pounds in 20 days. And, a ketogenic diet won’t automatically make you lose weight. Diets require time, effort, and dedication to be effective long-term.
How much water you need will depend on your activity level, body weight, and other factors. In most cases, women should drink over 74 ounces of water a day. For men, 101 or more ounces of water is sufficient. Not getting enough water puts you at risk for dehydration.
It’s not safe to starve yourself to lose weight. When your body sees that you’re eating fewer calories, it tries to preserve energy. Your body stops burning calories efficiently and slows your metabolism. Instead of shedding the pounds quickly, your body desperately tries to hang on to the weight.
You can lose weight without exercise if you’re creating a caloric deficit. To lose about 1 pound per week, you can cut out 500 calories from your diet per day. Limiting your fat intake and replacing fatty foods with healthier alternatives is a great way to cut more calories.
The ingredients in your pre-workout powder include beta-alanine and vitamin C that can help your muscles to recover from a workout. There’s also niacin and L-arginine, which can enhance blood flow to your muscles mid-workout. And, L-citrulline and creatine can boost your performance and strength.
